Terms of Service
Here you’ll find some suggestions of terms you may want to address, depending on your services:
Payment
The total fee for the editing and outlining services will be agreed upon and outlined in the final contract
Payment will be structured as follows:
25-50% of the total fee is due upon signing the contract to secure services unless stated between client and editor
The remaining balance will be due upon delivery of the final edited manuscript and outline
Payments can be made via: Paypal, ACH Transfer, and/or Venmo
Refund Policy
Refunds are not available once work has commenced on the Manuscript. If the client chooses to terminate the agreement before the work begins, a partial refund of the initial payment may be issued, less any administrative fees have been issued. In the event of termination by the editor due to unforeseen circumstances, a pro-rated refund for incomplete work will be provided.
Confidentiality
The editor agrees to maintain strict confidentiality regarding all materials provided by the client. No part of the manuscript or related materials will be shared with third parties without the client’s explicit written consent.
Governing Law:
This agreement shall be governed by and construed following the laws of Colorado Jurisdiction
Intellectual Property
The client retains full ownership and copyright of the manuscript and all associated materials.
The editor’s contributions are considered “Work for Hire” and all rights to the edited manuscript and outline will transfer fully to the client upon payment in full.
Privacy policy
This is where you may share a link to your privacy policy and an acknowledgment by the user that they have read and understood your privacy policy by using your services.
Service modification
Any modifications to the scope of services must be agreed upon in writing by both parties. Additional services requested by the client may incur additional fees, which will be outlined in a separate agreement or amendment to the original contract
Right to Terminate:
The client reserves the right to terminate the agreement at any time by providing written notice to the editor.
The editor reserves the right to terminate the agreement if the client fails to meet obligations (e.g nonpayment, failure to provide necessary materials) and/or engages in conduct that prevents the successful completion of the project.
